• Size: Generally, chips or cracks larger than a quarter are too large for a simple repair.

• Depth: Cracks that have penetrated both layers of the glass are not good candidates for repair.

• Location: Damage along the edge of the windshield or directly in the driver's line of sight usually requires a full replacement.
